How can I reset Yahoo mail to be my default email program?

I dowloaded Yahoo messenger, and set Yahoo mail as my default.

Yet, now out-of-the-blue, my computer set Windows mail as the default, and Yahoo mail is not in the drop-down box under internet options, even though Yahoo messenger is still installed and working properly.

This is really weird.

Can anyone explain;

1) Why this happened

2) How to set Yahoo mail as my default, without downloading Yahoo messenger (which is already on my computer).

Open IE browser,

At top of the screen click on Tools - scroll down to Internet options. This will open a window.

Click on the tab that says programs.

Go to the one that says Email. In the drop down select Yahoo mail. Click apply then ok.

You are done.

default programs, select email, pick yahoo mail. I use oulook, to handle all email in one spot.
