No, music files are much to big to send through email without compressing the file. You would need something more like an FTP server or file shareing program to do that.

If you send an email with a picture in it, then no, it should only send the email and embedded image. If that's not what you mean try sending an email to yourself, either you'll notice it takes pathetically long to send (If it is trying to send all your photos), or when you receive the email it will only have the photo you selected attached to it.

No they will only see what you have attached to the email!

Each photo has to be uploaded individually by the person, these are the only ones the email reciever will see.

Unless somehow you've zipped ALL your photos into one folder, then the email will contain just the one photo you chose (selected) to send.

Not sure what you mean, but if you are talking about when you click on an email address in some application and you want that to pop up Yahoo email and start composing, then you can't do that with just the web interface. Get Thunderbird and use that as your interface to Yahoo Mail.

Windows Live, is a messenger service which allows you to communcate through IM (instant Messages). So its practically a direct conversation with someone i.e a Live Chat. Yahoo has its own version too. Windows Live However does use your Hotmail address for login purposes and contacts. Hotmail is just the Microsoft free web e-mail tool.

The two answers miss the obvious point here: Web sites are written to BROWSERS, not OS's.

I'm not actually aware of *any* other site on the Internet (including Windows Live Mail and Gmail) that discriminates against IE6 being run on one OS versus another.

It's absurd and lazy of Yahoo, and I've yet to hear a technical justification of why it was necessary. Even Oddpost, which Yahoo Mail Beta was built upon, supports Win98.

Since it's so highly unusual, for now I'm just assuming it's a beta deficiency.

If you are trying to get to your Yahoo Beta Mail with any browser and getting a "Page Not Displayed" or similar message or errors, unfortunately there is not a simple solution.

A month ago or so I was experiencing similar problems. I tried every answer people had posted and nothing worked. I had cleared the cache and history, booted into SafeMode with networking to clear all temp files and still couldn't fix the problem.

Because Yahoo Mail Beta is beta software (almost but not quite ready for prime time) they help very little with it. Beta software is basically in testing mode. I'm sure Yahoo is using Answers to guage how well the software is working. Many people post their issues here so they get a good bug report of the software. But, since it is Beta, they have no solutions. They will simply try to fix these bugs when Beta goes into production for everyone.

With all of that said, last month I finally had a chance to switch back to the original version and all is fine now. You cannot change back to the original w/o accessing beta first. I had to do it late at night when Beta was fully working for me at home to find the link to switch back. The link is there close to your user name AFTER you successfully login to your Beta account.

There is a site you can access to check your Beta mail if you keep getting Page Not Displayed or a blank screen. It is basically text only, but at least you can check your mail. Here is the link: http://wap.oa.yahoo.com

I have the exact same problem and the only way I could find is logging into the old style yahoo mail. I am now using the old style yahoo mail as I have not found a way of using Yahoo Beta without the error message coming up every time. Hope this can help you in some way.

Open Yahoo email (I'm assuming you are talking Yahoo) and click on OPTIONS at the far right of the screen. Then go through each of the options to see which one you need to adjust.

firstname lastname (where a space is not allowed)

type firstname_lastname or firstname-lastname.

In a filename, where I sometimes like to include the date, instead of 5/27/07 type 5-27-07.

You need to find the 'attach' button when you are in the 'compose email' screen. Then search your documents for the CV file, select 'attach', and the email will now have a copy of the CV which you can send. The text will not appear in the email, the email will just send the file.

EDIT - I don't think you mean Windows 2006, as such a thing doesn't exist.

First of all, Mary, you need to save the document that you've produced. (Save it somewhere that will be easy for you to locate again ... maybe in C:\Documents and Settings\ %26lt;your name%26gt; \My Documents or on your desktop.)

Then you need to write your email and click on Attach Files. You then browse to where you saved your document and click on it. (It'll take a while for your email programme [program, if you're American] to add the file.

That's it. You simply click on Send.

You can have multiple windows open by opening both windows,then a blank spot on the task bar right click and choose either tile windows vertically or horizontally. The windows will be slightly smaller, so you may have to slide the bars to see parts of the page you want, but they can both be open at the same time.

If you are referencing the built in Windows Messenger as opposed to MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger, go to Tools, Options, Preferences and untick the box beside "Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts". Click OK.

Then go into your Outlook Express, go to Tools, Options, General and untick :Automatically log into Windows Messenger. Click Apply, then click OK.

You may need to reboot for the settings to stick

If you will look at the message on the little bar on the bottom of your screen, the text states "Cannot find server."

This message is typically reserved for instances in which the remote server your computer is *calling* is down, either for basic maintenance or due to technical problems.

I suspect that the problem with Yahoo has much to do with this present site, which they have drawn people to with extensive promotion, without appearing to have the organization, hardware, software, and staffing support to effectively accommodate at this time.

Hopefully the problems will be resolved shortly. Hang in there!

Yahoo! Stated that there is an internal system server error which is periodically occuring. This occured from last night actually. I was able to check my mail this morning, but that was after logging in 5 times. One trick you can try is to log into Yahoo! Mail Canada, UK/Ireland, or India (or somewhere that speaks english) to access mail - since they use a networked but seperate server. Let us know if you are having luck. For messenger, give it couple more minutes, or log into Web Messenger @ http://messenger.yahoo.com/.

This seems to be a recurring problem with Yahoo Mail Beta. I too have experienced this several times.

Sometimes, I can clear all browser cache and Yahoo cookies files and the problem goes away. Other times that does not work.

I also fixed the problem before by upgrading my Java version.

Unfortunately there is not an easy, cut and dried solution to the problem. Most everyone here will tell you to simply clear browser cache and history files and reboot. Honestly, that does work sometimes, but not every time.

POP mail outgoing mail not working?

Have used Yahoo pop mail service to Outlook for many years and haven't had a problem. Recently upgraded to new laptop with Vista and got Yahoo working but in the last few days it has worked intermittently. Windows mail is working fine, test email with Outlook sends, can recieve email but can't send with Outlook. Settings for both Window mail and Outlook mail are the same: Your outgoing server does not support SSL secured connections.

1. Clear your cache: Close the e-mail program, Outlook or Outlook Express.

Open Internet Explorer. The icon for this program looks like this:

From the menu bar on top, click Tools, and click Internet Options...

This will open the Internet Options settings box.

At the top of this box, click Content.

In the Content screen, click Clear SSL State.

You may now reopen the e-mail program

2. If you go to Tools, Email Accounts , NEXT highlight the account in question and select Change, Advanced , have you got a check in "This server requires an encrypted connection", if yes UNCHECK it.

3. Also check Tools, Options and see if you have anything checked on the Security Tab

Yeah Vista has improved a lot. You probably wouldn't have liked it if you'd bought it 4-6 months ago. I hated it when I first got it, so I installed XP. But I recently installed Vista again and now I love it. Vista is on it's way to becoming a good OS and probably will be a great OS when SP1 comes out. It'd take me a while to explain how to use all of those programs, though. They are something you have to just play around with until you figure them out.

This happened to me after my computer got infected with spy-ware and hi-jackers. It sucks, I have not been able to fix this problem at all, I can't even check my e-mail sometimes. One thing I was told to try was to check my security settings and possibly change them. It didn't work for me, but maybe it will for you. Good Luck.

Have you checked the security settings in your browser? Do you have SSL turned on in your Internet Options? Sounds like your SSL settings are off, and without that, secure sites won't load.

What you have to do is create a new email account through AT%26amp;T. Just log in to the account section with the master account and create the new account. Then all you have to do is configure the email client on the particular computer.

Just remember that email accounts are not bound to specific computes. I have several email accounts configured on multiple computers, plus I can access each of those accounts through a web portal which means I can check them from any computer connected to the internet (as long as Yahoo or Gmail are not blocked).

Some email programs let you have multiple profiles with each one configured for different people. Most email programs will allow you to check mail for multiple accounts within each individual profile.

For Outlook Express you would actually create separate Windows profiles to create multiple profiles. This means creating a profile which has different settings for things like the desktop, short cuts, temporary internet files, etc. Each of your profiles can then be password protected to keep others from snooping. This gives you the freedom to check your email from either computer.

I'm not sure if having Vista would make a difference in the procedure, or not --(it shouldn't)----I guess you would just have to try it and see.

To make Yahoo the default Mail.

Click Tools%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;then click Internet Options.

In the dialog box that opens, click the "programs" tab across the top, and then, click the down arrow at the end of the Email line, and choose Yahoo Mail. Apply and OK.

If Yahoo doesn't appear on the list, as one of the choices-----(((it usually doesn't)))----you will have to download (or re-download) Messenger---all of it----and that will put Yahoo on the list.

Now go back (tools-internet options-programs) and you will able to select Yahoo---apply and ok.

Later, you can remove Messenger---if you don't want it---without affecting the setting.

Thousands are having all kinds of problems with their mail since the new format, with Server Farm issues with Original Mail AND Beta Mail, several months ago!

Yahoo! and Sun Java are also having conflicts. Rather than trying to work around them, here is the easy and fastest way to cure them (for most). Go to Tools, open Internet Options, and select Advance tab. Scroll down the list and see if you have Microsoft Virtual Machine listed, if so, uncheck the 2 java鈥檚 listed. Make sure JIT is checked, click apply then ok. and then Close. This lets MSN virtual machine launch Yahoo! mail.

Also: you will have less problems with Mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger. Then click on the little envelope icon on top of messenger box. Or go to My Yahoo and click on your mail link. Or click on the Big RED Y! on the Yahoo! Toolbar. Bottom line is any link that already has you signed in!!!

I recommend that you use Original Mail until beta works out the bugs. FYI, beta means TESTING. Go back to IE6 which works just fine and is problem free. It is still installed on your pc. If you are using Yahoo Mail Plus, and your server farm has problems, switch to the free service until things are worked out.

it should give you the choice of seeing blocked images. As above it should be on the bar above the message, a bit that says SHOW. All you do is click on this.
Alternatively, create another email account with yahoo and ask the person to resend email to your new email.
You could ask your friend to 'zip' or 'rar' the file using winzip or winrar, this way you should be able to open it ok.
You may have to loosen up your security settings a notch or two. That puts some of the responsibility for your computer's safety on you.

I normally forward suspicious items from hotmail to yahoo and scan before trying to download.

I also have Verizon, and created a Verizon email acct. I learned that didn't work. I use Windows XP Professionas with Office 2003. My son-in-law set up an Outlook Express for office 2003 account with both my Aim and my Yahoo mail acct. That didn't work either. However, when I downloaded Yahoo messenger, I was blocked from using the IM, and now Windows wants me to use a different name for this account. I have no idea why, and have concluded that this email creation thing is just very confusing, and a big mess. I currently still have the Aim messenger, and the Windows messenger, and my Hotmail and Yahoo email accounts still set as is.

they have real problems with their servers which they deny. You can try sending through another ip...even playing the from name can help....seems to me a really flakey spam scoring...it may be they dont like emails sent from hosted servers....

I had the same problems with mine. What I did was changed to Windows XP and it worked fine. For some reason alot of programs are no longer compatible with Windows 2000, its like there upgrading to something new.
