Check it's file extension. If it's in .exe, .wma or .mp3 there's a big chance that it's a virus or worm. It's File extension should be .ppt or .pptx.

Try right-click%26gt;open with%26gt; then choose Powerpoint to open the file. Hope this helps...

You need to change the file association for the powerpoint presentation to do this:

Open MY COMPUTER, go to TOOLS %26gt; FOLDER OPTIONS %26gt; FILE TYPES tab. On the REGISTERED FILE TYPES look for the PPT extension, select it and below you can see a button CHANGE, click it. In the list of programs look for the MICROSOFT POWERPOINT FOR WINDOWS, if it is NOT listed click BROWSE and look for the powerpoint program (usually it is in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office, select it and click OPEN), on the OPEN WITH dialog box, check the ALWAYS USE THE SELECTED PROGRAM TO OPEN THIS KIND OF FILE and click OK
