I cant set yahoo as my default mail, what do I do?

I have a yahoo mail so I cant set it as my default mail I tried many things and I still cant I have windows Xp The IE7 and

I have yahoo as my default so thats my computer information

Now let me tell you that its so hard to set it as my default I Go to "Internet Option" click on programs click on the listings I have as my email and I only have outlook express windows mail and some other ones so there it is now you know I cant do it I even added yahoo toolbar I still cant after I decided to add yahoo music just to see if it will be their in the listing and its not oooo my god somebody help me Im tired very tired of trying all I wanna do Is verify some verication emails for face book and myspace! So now you see and please help me!!!

How to set Yahoo as default email

Q. I want to select Yahoo e-mail as my default e-mail service for Internet Explorer. I know I have done this before, but cannot seem to accomplish it now. I have even been on an extended email conversation with Yahoo support to no avail.

The standard approach to choose the default email program is to go to the Tools -%26gt; Internet Options -%26gt; Programs -%26gt; E-Mail. Unfortunately, Yahoo e-mail is not one of the preselected options available, and no provision is made to add an option. Do you have any suggestions?

A. Thanks for letting me know that you tried the default method. That saves me from having to tell you to try something you already have.

It's odd that Yahoo was unable to assist you, seeing as how they have a utility published on their Web site that is specifically designed to do exactly what you are trying to do.

If you click on this link you will be taken to the Yahoo UK site where you can download a driver. Once this is installed you can click on an e-mail link in your browser and a Yahoo! Mail window will open with the "To:" field already populated with the address from the site.

There used to be a copy of this on US Yahoo site but I can't seem to find it any longer. The link on their UK site will work just the same.

There have been some isolated problems, however. In rare cases it has been know to cause e-mail messages to have a slight Monty Python-esque accent and be very silly.

If you install Yahoo messenger, it will also install Yahoo! Mail, which then adds Yahoo to the drop down for default e-mail program. I don't know why Yahoo doesn't know that.

Nope--that didn't work for me. I inadvertently deleted the yahoo mail .exe file and now I cannot re-install it. I have the link and am able to download it, but it doesn't install. I installed yahoo messenger, but I still don't have the option of choosing yahoo mail as the default provider. The link is: http://help.yahoo.com/help/uk/mail/ext/e...

16th March 2007 - yes, that link worked for me too. Thanks. It's Yahoo Messenger that I can't download. Internet Explorer won't let me!

Thanks for the UK link. This worked for me also. I tried all the other ways to get yahoo to be my default email and this is the only thing that worked.

I had the same annoying issue. I re-installed Yahoo! Messenger. I now have the drop-down option for Yahoo! Mail again from IE tools. I dont use Yahoo! Messenger and I dont want to waste 10MB of disk space on my drive for this feature though. Is there any other way to restore Yahoo! Mail as default email program?
